31.03.2006 Important information relating to fraudulent E-Mails untitled Due to a growing number of enquiries from customers in recent weeks about possible lottery wins, Eurohypo AG believes it necessary to clarify the following: 1. At present, tricksters, especially from abroad, are trying to obtain customer data through what is known as phishing. These either request access data from users direct by e-mail or using a link provided in an e-mail, which takes users to a website set up by the fraudsters. On these websites, personal details and/or access data is requested and then passed on to unauthorised parties. Under no circumstances will Eurohypo AG ask you for confidential information, such as account numbers, PINs and TANs, by e-mail. Please note the general security information. 2. Currently, there are two examples of cases where apparent lottery winnings are used to obtain customer data. One is the EuroMillions Lottery SPE and the other the EURO HYPO INTERNATIONAL LOTTERY. Customers receive an e-mail indicating that they have won a prize in one of the above lotteries. At the same time, they are either asked to pay a processing fee for the lottery ticket or advised that the winnings will be paid by Eurohypo AG or Mr Henning Rasche direct once he (the customer) has provided his account details. Eurohypo AG does not work with either of these lotteries and does not request customers by e-mail to provide customer data. Please ignore any e-mails from the above lotteries, which request personal data from you.
